The Detroit Tigers aren’t going to have any arbitration drama with pitcher Tyler Alexander, who agreed to a one-year contract.

Left-hander Tyler Alexander and the Detroit Tigers are in agreement on a one-year, $1.875 million contract to avoid arbitration, according to a source familiar with the situation. Alexander was projected to earn $1.6 million.

Alexander is the first arbitration eligible player that the Tigers have settled with. That list now features Drew Hutchison, Joe Jimenez, Jeimer Candelario, Jose Cisnero, Austin Meadows, Harold Castro, Gregory Soto, Willi Castro, Rony Garcia and Kyle Funkhouser.
