Projected College Football Playoff rankings after Week 12: No. 16-15

16. Florida State Seminoles

Not that there was ever much of a question that Florida State was going to lose at home against Louisiana on Saturday, but the Seminoles continued to quietly do what they’ve been doing more than people seem to realize all season: win football games. Jordan Travis continued his phenomenal play with three total touchdowns while Treshaun Ward added two scores of his own in a complete rout.

The final score might say 49-17 but it was actually 49-3 entering the fourth quarter when Florida State had its backups well entrenched in the game. Mike Norvell has done a phenomenal job getting this program back in a favorable position as they now head into the rivalry game against Florida to try and finish the regular season at 9-3, which would be a fantastic result and one that the Noles have undoubtedly earned.

15. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Anchored by cornerback Benjamin Morris having the game of his life as he hauled in three interceptions, Notre Dame welcomed Boston College to South Bend and then promptly escorted them to the woodshed somewhere near Touchdown Jesus. The Fighting Irish jumped out to a massive 37-0 lead going into halftime, which is when a snowstorm settled over and blanketed the stadium.

That slowed things down for the Irish and they only added seven more points to their total, but it also helped shut out the Eagles and give Marcus Freeman an emphatic 44-0 win as the Irish now head into the regular-season finale against rival USC. This team has clearly turned a corner and, though far from perfect (especially on offense), Notre Dame looks as if it might be able to hang with just about anyone.
