Pick Analysis. Big 12. (11-0). 2. player. Scouting Report. TCU Horned Frogs. 872

TCU may actually have some margin for error and may not have to go undefeated

We have known for a while now that as long as TCU keeps winning, the Horned Frogs will make the College Football Playoff. Style points do not matter for the last undefeated team in the Big 12, only wins. At 11-0 with a sub-.500 Iowa State team coming to town, TCU might actually have some wiggle room to make the playoff for the first time ever even with a defeat down the stretch.

Yes, an Iowa State loss would be bad, but the Horned Frogs might be able to overcome that with a Big 12 Championship victory over Kansas State, or potentially Texas, in a rematch. A loss in the Big 12 Championship at 12-0 may be too tough to overcome, but the Horned Frogs have an easier path in than Clemson in the ACC and most certainly USC out of the Pac-12. TCU probably gets in.

At 13-0, TCU would be the first Big 12 program to ever make the playoff not named Oklahoma.

SEC. (11-0). player. 814. Scouting Report. Georgia Bulldogs. 1. Pick Analysis

Georgia gets in with a win in Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate or an SEC Championship

No doubt about it, Georgia is in a fantastic spot to make the College Football Playoff in back-to-back years. An SEC Championship victory over LSU probably secures them the No. 1 seed. Frankly, a win at home over 5-6 Georgia Tech in Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate probably punches their ticket in anyway, regardless of what happens in Atlanta. It would not be 100 percent certain, but very close.

Assuming a win over the Yellow Jackets, Georgia still probably gets in with a close loss to LSU in the SEC title bout. This year’s team is not as dominant as last season’s national champions, but LSU is not going to blow out the Dawgs in Atlanta like the Alabama Crimson Tide did. LSU has to win out to get in, but Georgia can technically afford a loss and should be in a fantastic position.

There are no locks for the College Football Playoff just yet, but Georgia is about as close to one.
