Ranking Odell Beckham Jr.’s 5 suitors with visits lined up
4. Baltimore Ravens
It’s been a years-long exploit for the Ravens in terms of trying to solidify the wide receiver position, a pursuit that has largely been unsuccessful. Part of the reason for that this year has been the season-ending injury to Rashod Bateman, but it remains painfully transparent that Lamar Jackson needs a reliable weapon outside of tight end Mark Andrews.
When healthy and ready to return, Beckham could be that and, frankly, would be a great fit in this offense for the Ravens. The attention Andrews forces to be paid attention to him would open up the crossing routes and downfield throws that OBJ thrives in running.
The drawback, however, is that Beckham would clearly be the No. 1 option in Baltimore, which does not necessarily seem to be something he wants. After landing with the Rams last year and then looking at the teams of interest now, he might prefer to be a 1B rather than a bonafide WR1. Thus, I’m not sure the Ravens are anywhere close to the driver’s seat in this instance.
3. Buffalo Bills
Just a couple of weeks ago, the Buffalo Bills might’ve been in the Top 2 of these rankings but things have seemingly changed a bit for Buffalo.
Over the past three weeks, the Bills do have a 2-1 record but that loss came in ugly fashion to a Vikings team that has since looked a bit fraudulent. And it also includes the narrow Thanksgiving win over the lowly Lions. As much as fans might not want to admit it, a big part of the issue has been Josh Allen, whose reportedly injured elbow looks to be affecting him more than the team might be letting on.
More importantly, though, the Bills have just started to simply look more mortal than we previously thought they were. For a player like Odell Beckham Jr., someone who admittedly would fit perfectly into the hierarchy between Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, and his pursuit of another Super Bowl, this decision is going to come down to splitting hairs. This might be one he chooses to split.
