2) MLB rumors: Xander Bogaerts will end up on the Dodgers roster

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been eerily quiet for a team that is willing to spend and has a lot of money coming off the books. Although they’ll be losing Turner, they certainly seem like a candidate to swoop in and sign another one of the prized free agent shortstops.

The team could simply move Gavin Lux to shortstop or make a trade for Willy Adames of the Milwaukee Brewers. Bogaerts is a much bigger splash. In a city like Los Angeles, making waves is what the sports franchises do.

Bogaerts seems to be quickly slipping away from the Red Sox. With their own built-in replacement of Trevor Story, it seems as if they could be letting Bogaerts leave without much of a fight.

The Dodgers should be a team considered a favorable destination for any of these four free agent shortstops. Even someone like Dansby Swanson, who would rank fourth on the list, shouldn’t be ruled out.

It is Bogaerts, however, who will break the hearts of Red Sox fans and join Mookie Betts on the West Coast. The Red Sox should make a good attempt to retain him. Knowing there is still a big Rafael Devers decision to make in the near future and many other holes to fill, they will probably come up short.

Bogaerts goes to the Dodgers. The MLB rumors about Swanson also come to an end with him finding a new home, too.
