D.J. Uiagalelei knows Tony Elliott and the entire ACC well, so maybe Virginia?

If there is any realistic chance that Uiagalelei stays out East and in the ACC, it might be with Virginia. This is because former Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott is entering year two in Charlottesville. With longtime UVA starting quarterback Brennan Armstrong entering the transfer portal as well, Elliott does not a strong quarterback to lead those Hoos down in Hooville, alright.

While Uiagalelei has a strong working knowledge of Elliott’s system and the ACC as a whole, the Cavaliers are not exactly brimming with top-tier talent. Frankly, Uiagalelei had more than a hard time playing well at Clemson, and the Tigers are by far and away the most talented team in their league. It may only be a secondary option at best for him, but Virginia has to be considered here.

In a way, it probably serves Uiagalelei to go to a team that is not as pressure packed as is Clemson.

DJ U might be going, going back, back to Cali, Cali to replace DTR at UCLA

As soon as there were rumors about Uiagalelei entering the transfer portal, UCLA was easily the first team to come to mind as a potential destination. The Bruins are back to good under Chip Kelly, a man who prefers to use the portal than recruit, if we are being totally honest here. The Uiagaleleis are from Southern California, so there is a chance the brothers may be going to UCLA.

Although USC would have been a great fit in theory, Caleb Williams is the undisputed starter for the Trojans at least for next season before he turns pro. As for UCLA, longtime Bruins starting quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson will have exhausted his final year of collegiate eligibility after bowl season. This paves the way for Uiagalelei to come back home and play in the Pac-12.

At this point, it would be more shocking than not for Uiagalelei to not end up playing in Westwood.
