Green Bay Packers Predictions for Week 17 and 18 vs Vikings and Lions

Green Bay finishes off the year with two NFC North matchups — both teams to which the Packers lost their initial showdowns.

First up, in Week 17 is the Vikings, followed by Detroit in Week 18. Both of these games are home games, in the cold, with Rodgers once again having all the pressure on him.

Believe it or not, I have the Packers finishing the year by getting revenge over both divisional rivals and ending the year at 9-8. Luckily for Green Bay, their main competition faces some tough matchups the rest of the way.

Will the Green Bay Packers make the playoffs?

The Washington Commanders, at 7-5-1, have to play the Giants, 49ers, Browns and Cowboys — and two of those should be losses to San Francisco and Dallas, putting them at 9-7-1 at best, if not worse.

The Giants (7-5-1) will also play the Vikings, Colts and Eagles. Like Washington, they could end up 9-7-1 at best with losses to Minnesota and Philadelphia.

Now, that still puts Green Bay behind both of those teams and on the outside looking in at the playoffs. The Seahawks could finish on a tough note, too, having to play the 49ers, Chiefs, Jets and Rams in their remaining four games. If Seattle drops three of those four, they’ll finish at 8-9, firmly behind Green Bay.

So, Packer fans are praying that either Washington or New York loses three of their remaining four games. It’s that pesky tie that ends up becoming a positive, here, for both teams.

Verdict: The Commanders beat the Giants. New York also loses to Minnesota and Philadelphia, finishing at 8-8-1, allowing the Packers to sneak into the final Wild Card spot.
