Aaron Rodgers rumors: 3 monster trade packages to force the Packers hand, No. 1: New York Jets

The New York Jets were one of the big surprise teams of the 2022 season. The roster that general manager Joe Douglas has built is very good, and they have bought into the culture that head coach Robert Saleh has brought with him since taking the job in 2021. The one glaring need that the Jets have is at quarterback.

Last year, the Jets used the second-overall pick on BYU quarterback Zach Wilson, who impressed teams throughout the pre-draft process with his arm talent. The thing is, he has not put it all together at the NFL level. Wilson found his way to the bench after an atrocious game in Week 11, where he completed just nine passes for 77 yards on 22 attempts, then showed no accountability in the postgame press conference. Mike White has since taken over, and the offense has been more productive.

With New York, they have the wide receiving corps and running backs room all set. Their defense is among one of the best in the league. This is a team that, realistically, a quarterback away from becoming legitimate contenders. The thing is, the Jets are in a great position to give up draft capital to go get their signal caller, i.e. draft capital.

Rodgers would go from playing under head coach Matt LaFleur to Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur, his younger brother.

This would be a perfect situation for Rodgers and the Packers. Rodgers would get to throw passes to the likes of Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore, and Corey Davis to throw to, and can rely on a running game featuring Breece Hall, Michael Carter, and Zonovan Knight.
