Ranking the Jets’ Zach Wilson replacement options

No. 3 – Trade for Kyler Murray

Report after report suggest Kyler Murray’s relationship with Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury has deteriorated. Arizona could dump the head coach and move forward with Murray under a new regime, but it also sounds like the organization has their misgivings about the quarterback himself.

The Jets could take advantage of all that drama by trading to acquire the new face of their franchise. Murray has his faults, but he’s a two-time Pro Bowler with a dynamic skillset. He’d make the Jets better.

No. 2 – Trade for Lamar Jackson

How about an even more lofty trade idea? Lamar Jackson apparently wants to stay with the Ravens, but they don’t seem willing to give him the big money deal he’s after. It’ll take a trade to acquire Jackson because Baltimore can use the franchise tag. New York doing whatever it takes to get the MVP candidate would be a move of tectonic impact.

No. 1 – Trade for Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers may be contemplating retirement but he’ll still be the biggest name teams can look at in hopes of changing the direction of their franchise.

The last time the Jets brought in an unhappy Packers quarterback, it didn’t pay off. However, Rodgers is better at this stage than Favre was when that whole scenario went down. And the longer Tom Brady plays, the more viable it looks for a team to go all-in on the 39-year-old Rodgers.
