The Peach Bowl is here and the Ohio State Buckeyes and Georgia Bulldogs are set to face off with both teams looking for a trip to the national title game.

The 2022 college football season is coming to a close and it’s getting closer to naming a national champion. One half of this season’s College Football Playoff features the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Georgia Bulldogs.

It probably wasn’t the way Buckeye fans wanted it to happen, but Ohio State was able to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff. Their reward for being one of the four final teams contending for a national title? The Buckeyes get the pleasure, or punishment, of playing the top-seeded Bulldogs.

Georgia has been steamrolling opponents all throughout the season and will be a tough opponent for the Buckeyes to beat. That’s especially true when considering the Bulldogs and Buckeyes are facing off in the Peach Bowl, which is located in Atlanta, Georgia.

What time does the 2022 Peach Bowl start for Ohio State vs Georgia?

Georgia injury report for the 2022 Peach Bowl

The Dawgs do have a couple of key injuries to watch for the CFP semifinal matchup in addition to ones that have already been effecting the team this season. Nolan Smith was ruled out for the season a couple of months ago with a torn pec but the team has also ruled out Andrew Paul, CJ Washington, Dan Jackson, Earnest Greene, Drew Bobo, and CJ Smith.

As for the question marks, the two biggest are offensive tackle Warren McClendon (knee) and wide receiver Ladd McConkey (knee), both of whom have been spotted at practice and are listed as questionable for the matchup against OSU. Defensive linemen Marvin Jones Jr. (ankle), who missed the LSU game, and receiver AD Mitchell (ankle) are listed as probably for the game.

Ohio State injury report for the 2022 Peach Bowl

There is a little less clarity about the status of the key Buckeyes injuries leading up to this playoff matchup. We have known for a bit now that wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and running back TreVeyon Smith won’t be suiting up against the Bulldogs. But the team did get some good news as Miyan Williams is likely to play after dealing with injuries and a recent illness as well.

It also appears that starting guard Matt Jones should play, but the status is much less clear in the secondary. Cam Brown, Jordan Hancock and Denzel Burke have all been dealing with injuries but there has been hardly any word on their status. It would probably be best to list them as questionable, though there is not an official designation.

Ohio State vs. Georgia all-time records

Thus far, the Buckeyes and Bulldogs haven’t exactly been regular foes. Despite the fact that the two programs are blue bloods and national title contenders on a regular basis, they’ve only met on one occasion prior to this matchup. Ohio State and Georgia last faced each other in the 1993 Citrus Bowl, a game the Bulldogs won 21-14.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that the Bulldogs are favored in this contest. The Dawgs are basically playing at home and they’ve been on fire all throughout the season. OSU has the talent to make things interesting, but we’ll see if the Buckeyes are able to bounce back from the beating they received from the Michigan Wolverines.

Prediction: Georgia 44, Ohio State 38
