The Seattle Seahawks may have unintentionally trolled former All-Pro quarterback Russell Wilson on Sunday afternoon.

It’s been a tough season for Russell Wilson in his new home with the Denver Broncos. Denver is far from a postseason spot, and will spend the playoffs watching from home when many had them as a dark horse Super Bowl pick before the year.

Wilson played a major role in that disappointment, as did head coach Nathaniel Hackett, who has since been fired. The Broncos cannot afford to do the same with Wilson, as his contract buyout and dead cap number would be immense.

This all came to a head thanks to Denver’s blowout loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams. The Broncos fell on Christmas by the score of 51-14, an embarrassment of epic proportions. During the game, even Patrick Star ripped on Wilson during the Nickelodeon broadcast.

Did the Seahawks troll Russell Wilson, too?

Prior to Seattle’s matchup against the New York Jets on Sunday, the Seahawks official Twitter account posted a photo of Patrick Star, leading some to believe they did so on purpose to troll Wilson.

Intentional or not, the Seahawks may have won the internet today.

Wilson did not part ways well in Seattle. While he thanked the fans and organization, there’s clearly some bad blood between he and head coach Pete Carroll, as well as some former teammates like Richard Sherman.

It’s unfortunate, as Wilson was a key cog on the Legion of Boom Seattle team which won the Super Bowl and came one Malcolm Butler interception away from a second chance at glory.

Wilson’s been the target of much trolling this season. He has plenty of bulletin-board material, if he can find a way to use that to his advantage.
