1. Nate McMillan, Atlanta Hawks

After acquiring Dejounte Murray from the Spurs in the offseason, it seemed the Hawks finally found a legitimate side-kick to pair with Trae Young. Many Atlanta fans were thrilled with the move and thought it might earn them a spot back at the top of the Eastern Conference. However, injuries and organizational tensions have caused a whirlwind of problems for this team.

The center of these problems has been the feud between Nate McMillan and Trae Young.

This feud has sparked trade rumors and serious discussions. The Ringers’ Ryen Russillo went on his podcast to say it would be in the best interest of Atlanta to move Young. This turbulence has affected McMillan as well, who has reportedly considered resigning amidst a roller-coaster season. While the Hawks haven’t shopped Young, and both parties have downplayed the situation, it has been an unfortunate start for Atlanta.

Regardless, can Young and McMillan move forward together? If not, McMillan probably won’t be the survivor. If the Hawks’ mediocrity continues, it will be the second disappointing season in a row for Atlanta after making the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021. Will it be time for them to at least consider making a switch?
