1. Lamar Jackson

The Lamar Jackson option would only come into play if the Ravens made their quarterback available for a trade. He’d cost a bucket load to get. But he’s also an MVP-caliber player. Those don’t come available at 26 years old all that often.

Dynamism is what Jackson would bring to the Jets offense. He wouldn’t just give them the chance to ride their defense to a Super Bowl appearance. He could give them the ability to contend with the Bills, Chiefs and Bengals for the No. 1 seed in the AFC on a year-by-year basis.

The only reasons Jackson isn’t far-and-away the best option for the Jets are cost and durability. He’s never started more than 15 games in a regular season for the Ravens and he’s going to command a huge contract despite the injury risk. It would also take a trade to get him in the first place and Baltimore isn’t going to settle for peanuts on that front.

However, if the Jets are willing to do whatever it takes to get Jackson, should he come available, then you couldn’t accuse the team of not trying. He’s a franchise quarterback and a franchise changer.
