NFL mock draft: 3 teams that Max Duggan could thrive on
By John Buhler
Max Duggan could have New York Jets success akin to lookalike Chad Pennington
History is going to repeat itself, trust me. Take one look at Max Duggan and don’t tell me he is not related to New York Jets legend Chad Pennington. With Zach Wilson being the worst thing to happen to the Jets since The Butt Fumble, they need to draft a quarterback who is more elite than Joe Flacco and way cooler than Mr. S Ned Schneebly Mike White. With a Duggan, can you dig it?
Jets general manager Joe Douglas got a lot of things right since taking over for the Dunkin’ addict Mike Maccagnan, but the quarterback was not one. Wilson will be out of East Rutherford faster than you can say Sam Darnold. So with a borderline playoff team roster in tote, why not embrace the power of The Hypnotoad professionally? New York will never understand, but go Gang Green!
Amid all the losing this losing franchise has experienced since Joe Namath made his guarantee and subsequently cursed this franchise, there was a brief pocket of hope with Pennington playing quarterback. His arm died in the years to follow, but Pennington is a name that makes Jets fans smile. Would the prodigal son of Randy Moss’ college quarterback be coming home to New York?
Doppelgängers are a real thing, but the only thing even better than the real thing is achtung, baby!
