NFL mock draft: 3 teams that could select Jalen Carter in the Top 10

The Seattle Seahawks are the team to watch with the Denver Broncos’ pick

Though there may be some debate over what the Seattle Seahawks should do with the first-round pick they are getting from the Denver Broncos as part of the Russell Wilson trade, I would be reluctant to use that on a quarterback for the time being. My logic behind that is you already have a Pro Bowler under center in Geno Smith. Allow him a chance to grow, plus add a weapon.

Should the Seahawks end up with the No. 3 overall pick by way of Denver, one would think they will be in prime position to take either Carter or Will Anderson. This is assuming either Bryce Young and/or C.J. Stroud go inside of the top two. One almost certainly will, but it remains to be seen if Anderson even makes it to No. 3. He is a 21st-century version of Derrick Thomas out of Alabama.

For a defensive-minded head coach like Pete Carroll, getting Carter at No. 3 or No. 4 as part of the deal to send a washed Mr. Unlimited to the Broncos is about as sweet as it gets. Carroll will not be coaching Carter for his entire NFL career in Seattle, but the Seahawks could be getting a Cortez Kennedy level of player at defensive tackle in Carter. You do not want to pass on this kind of talent!

Carter would have the potential to be a franchise cornerstone for the next great Seattle defense.
