The 2022 season is over, which means 2023 opponents are confirmed. Here are the Minnesota Vikings opponents for next year.

The great thing about the NFL schedule is, while we have to wait a while to see dates and times, we know exactly what each team’s matchups will look like the following season based on the outcome of the season before.

So, with the 2022 season over, we know who each team will be playing at home and away.

As a reminder, here is the general outline for each team, as told by NFL Operations:

  • 6 divisional opponent games — One home, one away for each rival
  • 4 games against teams from a division in the conference — two at home, two on the road
  • 4 games against teams from a division in the opposite conference — two at home, two on the road
  • 2 games against teams from the two remaining divisions in its own conference based on division ranking from the previous season — one at home, one on the road
  • 1 17th game against non-conference opponent from a division team is not scheduled to play based on division ranking from previous season

Minnesota Vikings 2023 schedule

While the dates, times, and all that good stuff is to be determined, we do know the home and away opponents.

Here’s who the Minnesota Vikings will have at home:

  • New Orleans Saints
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • Los Angeles Chargers
  • San Fransisco 49ers
  • Chicago Bears
  • Detroit Lions
  • Green Bay Packers

Here’s who they will have at home:

  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Carolina Panthers
  • Denver Broncos
  • Las Vegas Raiders
  • Philadelphia Eagles
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Chicago Bears
  • Detroit Lions
  • Green Bay Packers

As usual, the Vikings will face their NFC North rivals both at home and on the road. The Vikings draw the NFC South and AFC West as their round-robin divisional opponents this year.

The NFC South was a dumpster fire this year but could be a wild card next season. The Carolina Panthers seem determined to make the right hire with their new head coach, and Jim Harbaugh is being floated as a possible answer there. Best believe if that’s the case, they’ll be determined to figure out other parts of the roster, too.

Then, there’s the rest of that division, which for now includes Tom Brady, who is a free agent this offseason. Consider the NFC South an all-around Wild Card.

The AFC West is a challenge. It has one of the best teams of the decade, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Chargers are a playoff team as well. The Broncos should be better next year. The Raiders are beatable.

Then, the Eagles and Bengals are also challenging, Super Bowl-ready opponents.

Tough draw for the Vikings in 2023 overall. That’s partially a product of their division win this season.
