Teams that should look to trade for Derek Carr: New York Jets

Zach Wilson: Done.

Mike White: Free agent, likely to command at least some sort of free agency interest.

Derek Carr: Next great Jets quarterback?

A large market, Jets fans might want more of a proven name. Or, heck, maybe they want the team to reset with yet another rookie quarterback after the Wilson era crashed and burned.

Carr is an in-between choice that isn’t super risky, but probably has some decent upside for New York.

The Jets are young and exciting, and perhaps the mix of youthful up-and-coming talent can reinvigorate Carr and get more out of him than he was able to give in Vegas.

Fans will want the team to go after Aaron Rodgers. Not happening, though it would be a nice re-boot of the Brett Favre career arc.

Here’s an interesting thought experiment for Jets fans to consider: Who would you rather have, Dak Prescott or Carr? Intuitively, I think most fans would take Prescott.

Prescott received a grade of 72.0 from Pro Football Focus this year, Prescott 66.6. That’s not all that far off.
