Teams that should look to trade for Derek Carr: Carolina Panthers
We move to another NFC South team that is languishing in the quarterback department. The Carolina Panthers certainly seem poised to make big moves this offseason.
They’re rumored to be competitive in the coaching department, possibly one of the teams to convince Jim Harbaugh to get back to the NFL.
If that’s the case, there should be a lot of confidence that Harbaugh could get the most out of a player like Carr and help him get his career back on track. Harbaugh took a Colin Kapernick-led team to the Super Bowl and, had the lights never gone out in New Orleans, maybe they would have kept the momentum and won that game.
Kaepernick’s football career after Harbaugh left the team was primarily as a backup. Could Harbaugh get the most out of Carr, too?
Even without Harbaugh, the Panthers definitely need a QB. They’ve tried Sam Darnold. They’ve tried Baker Mayfield. Nothing seems to stick in Charlotte, and though they could look to the draft with a top-10 pick, this might be the safer direction to go.
