Predicting the best free agent the Denver Broncos will sign: Kareem Hunt, RB

Boy, oh boy. The Denver Broncos are in for one heck of an offseason after the embarrassment that was their 2022 season. Firing Nathaniel Hackett before he could get one season under his belt certainly wasn’t in the plans, originally, but between his lack of leadership and the Russell Wilson situation, something had to change.

The Broncos won’t have a ton of room to spend this offseason, especially because of the Wilson contract. They are also without a ton of draft capital. But, the one thing they need to do is bolster their running back room. If last year taught us anything, it’s that the Broncos didn’t have a great contingency plan for Javonte Williams, who ultimately went down to a season-ending injury earlier in the year.

Melvin Gordon wasn’t the answer. Latavius Murray, an aging veteran, ended up being their go-to guy down the stretch.

Now, it’ll be Kareem Hunt who comes in to take off some of the pressure on Williams and could give the Broncos a nice one-two punch. Not having too much wear and tear on his tires, Hunt has been the second fiddle in Cleveland behind Nick Chubb for a few seasons. He’d love a starting gig, but running backs are a dime a dozen these days, and that probably won’t be in the cards.
