Predicting the best free agent the Kansas City Chiefs will sign: Josh Jacobs, RB

This is a spicy one.

The Kansas City Chiefs very well might be the best football team in the league right now, with the way Patrick Mahomes is playing this season. Still, it’s a committee and somewhat of a revolving door at running back.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire doesn’t seem to be the long-term answer, after being drafted as a first-round guy a few years ago. Isiah Pacheco is a fun story, and came on late in the year as a rookie, but isn’t a true lead back.

For goodness sake, the Chiefs have resurrected Jerick McKinnon’s career in a big way, and that’s not a knock on McKinnon.

The Raiders are going to part with Derek Carr and might look a lot different next season. What better way for Josh Jacobs to spite his former team for not giving him a long-term deal than to not only lead the league in rushing in his final season, but sign with a division rival.

Jacobs turns 25 in February and has plenty of football left in him. He makes this Chiefs offense that much more dangerous going forward, as scary as that might seem.
