Predicting the best free agent the Jacksonville Jaguars will sign: Yannick Ngakoue, EDGE
The Jacksonville Jaguars were one of the most fun stories of the 2022 season. Starting out 3-7 and ending up in the playoffs, winning the AFC South, was nothing short of spectacular. Now, the Jaguars go into an offseason where they have some foundational pieces in place and will spend some money yet again.
Back in 2016, Yannick Ngakoue was drafted by the Jaguars in the third round. He enjoyed the best year of his career as a Jaguar in 2017, earning Pro Bowl honors and finishing with 12.0 sacks. For some reason, Ngakoue has bounced around and played for a total of five teams since entering the league. However, he’s never ended a season with less than 8.0 sacks.
He is as consistent as you could ask for a guy that can be your second-best pass rusher, and could still potentially be your number one at just 27 years old.
Ngakoue stays in the division to torment his former team in the Colts, but more importantly, comes back to Jacksonville where it all began. Now, the Jaguars are once again a competitive football team and Ngakoue makes their defense much better up front.
