Predicting the best free agent the Los Angeles Rams will sign: Dalton Risner, G

This season was a disaster for the Los Angeles Rams. The team endured some major injuries to guys like Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp, among others. But, even when Stafford was on the field, the Rams had a hard time keeping him comfortable in the pocket.

Los Angeles finished the season graded out as the no. 25 overall offensive line unit in football per PFF. Specifically, it was the interior of that line which got them in the most hot water. This spring, they will need to find some protection for Stafford, who plans to play in 2023.

Dalton Risner may not have made a Pro Bowl or All Pro team yet in his career, but the former second-round pick is one of the better pass-blocking guards in football. Risner, 27, enters free agency for the first time as a pro after coming into the league as an older rookie (24).

The Rams could end up getting Risner at a fairly reasonable price by comparison, simply because he doesn’t have the accolades. But, he would be a great addition to a line that was a definitive weak link for the Rams in 2022.
