If this season proved anything about the San Francisco 49ers, it’s that they might have the best head coach in all of football. Kyle Shanahan did a masterful throughout the regular season, managing his offense amidst a whirlwind of change.
The ascension of Brandon Aiyuk was nice to see, but the loss of Deebo Samuel was a huge damper on the tail end of the year. San Francisco could use another steady presence at wide receiver, and that’s exactly what Jakobi Meyers brings.
The 49ers don’t need to make any flashy moves. They’re already one of the best all-around rosters in football. But, getting a sure-handed possession guy like Meyers, for whomever the quarterback is in 2023, is a big win.
The 26-year-old has been one of the more underrated receivers in the game since going undrafted four seasons ago.
