Predicting the best free agent the Cleveland Browns will sign: Dalvin Tomlinson, DT

The Browns’ offseason will be one to watch, especially after seeing Deshaun Watson come back from suspension and struggle so mightily. They clearly have some big-time problems to address, but those problems don’t just come on the offensive side of the football.

On defense, Cleveland really struggled against the run in 2022. They gave up the eighth-most rushing yards per game last season, while also finishing 27th in the league in sacks. That tells us one thing, and one thing only: Myles Garrett needs some help.

Offensive lines know that if they focus on Garrett, they won’t have much of an issue with this defensive front. That’s why the Browns will go out and sign Dalvin Tomlinson, who has become one of the better and more underrated defensive linemen in the game today.

As an interior lineman, Tomlinson brings the heat in both aspects. He’s a stellar run-stopper, with a total of 24 stops on the season per Pro Football Focus. But he’s also graded as a phenomenal pass rusher from the interior. He puts pressure on the quarterback from straight up the middle. This is the type the Browns need next to Garrett.
