The Cardinals must keep prospect Jordan Walker

Walker is the most anticipated Cardinal prospect in some time. In recent offseason events that have allowed him to speak with the fans and media, he’s created a ton of excitement for what to expect.

Walker will be working this spring as the Cardinals’ opening-day right fielder. The hope is that he should break camp with the Cardinals and be a mainstay for years to come.

The 20-year-old was the Cardinals’ first-round pick in the 2020 MLB Amateur Draft. He was drafted as a third baseman. After the Cardinals acquired Gold Glove-winning third baseman Nolan Arenado, the team was left to find another role for the number one prospect in the organization.

The organization gave Walker opportunities in the center and right field. He has capitalized.

Walker has dazzled the organization and league throughout A and AA baseball. He was a standout performer in the Arizona Fall League this fall. Walker and the organization seem set to proclaim Walker as the next up-and-coming star and potential legend to wear the Birds on the Bat.

Walker is prime to have a tremendous season, and the Cardinals must keep him to ensure that his legend status grows.
