Spencer Rattler can rehab his NFL Draft stock with during South Carolina finale

Riding the Beamer heater of a lifetime, the South Carolina Gamecocks enter 2023 with so much positive momentum. It will be year three of the Shane Beamer era in Columbia, as well as the second season Spencer Rattler starts under center. While he plays in the same division as Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee, Rattler could reclaim his once-promising draft stock with a great season.

He was a former five-star coming out of his native Arizona. While Rattle showed signs of brilliance previously at Oklahoma, he was later outshined by Caleb Williams, who then followed Lincoln Riley to USC. Rattler transferring to South Carolina made sense to reunite him with Beamer. After an up-and-down first year with the Gamecocks, could Rattler finally put it all together in the SEC?

Along with Joe Milton’s absolute bazooka, Rattler is arguably the most talented quarterback in his Power Five conference. Should the Gamecocks steal a game or two vs. a few rivals like they did a year ago, South Carolina can win around nine games and potentially play in a meaningful bowl game. The talent has always been there, but Rattler’s major inconsistencies have dinged him a bit.

How Rattler plays in Dowell Loggains’ South Carolina offense will tell the tale of his college career.
