Dante Moore will be one of the most gifted QBs Chip Kelly has coached

Say what you will about Chip Kelly, the production he’s been able to get out of his quarterbacks, particularly at the college level, has been highly impressive. Marcus Mariota at Oregon was a 3-star recruit that became a Heisman Trophy winner. Dorian Thompson-Robinson was a high 4-star recruit more recently but, even with limited development on his part, still put up huge numbers.

Now you could make the case that Detroit native Dante Moore is the most talented quarterback that Kelly will have ever worked with. While UCLA is going to experience somewhat of a wake-up call with the looming move to the Big Ten alongside rival USC, the truth of the matter is that Moore could be the piece that could elevate them.

While Moore doesn’t possess an elite arm, he’s extremely accurate for a high school quarterback and has proven to be cool under pressure, both in terms of defenders closing in on him and in dealing with big moments on the field. That’s a recipe for success, especially in this offense. Oh yeah, he also has a staple for a Kelly quarterback with a bit of mobility.

UCLA was able to flip Moore from the Oregon Ducks in late December and the Bruins have to be over the moon about that. With his physical tools and getting to play in the Chip Kelly offense, we could see him blossom into potentially the best quarterback in the country.
