Oklahoma has a stud incoming to a great scheme with Jackson Arnold

The Gatorade National Player of the Year, Jackson Arnold has the goods to be something special as he makes his way to the college football ranks. Yes, the accolades are certainly nice, but he has the talent to back it up and he’s also heading into an Oklahoma offense that should be ideally suited to what he does well.

Though Arnold doesn’t have prototypical size at a listed 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, he makes up for it with his play. He has a big arm that can allow him to make any throw and he can do so accurately from multiple angles as well. Moreover, he has an extremely quick and impressive release to get the ball out quick and on target.

When you think of the Baylor-style offense that the Sooners have adopted under this current regime in addition to the talent that Brent Venables has been quietly bringing into the program recently, what Arnold does well seems ideally suited to make a big splash whenever he takes over for OU.

Admittedly, there has been some buzz about Jeff Lebby, the current Oklahoma offensive coordinator, potentially leaving for Alabama. Arnold’s potential and fit with the Sooners is definitely tied to that. But since Lebby is still in Norman as of now, you have to like the way his game and tools translate to what the offense will ask of him.
