3. WR Equanimeous St. Brown

It’s no secret the Bears need major upgrades at wide receiver. They traded a second-round pick in the NFL Draft for Chase Claypool. That turns out to be a terrible trade, as that pick is now the 32nd overall after the Dolphins forfeited their pick. So, basically they gave up late first-round value for a guy who contributed 14 catches in seven games. Claypool was a non-factor by the end of the year.

The Bears aren’t going to cut Claypool. They will give him one more chance to prove himself. They can’t sink this pick for nothing. That’s how GMs lose their jobs.

However, the wide receiver room can’t look the same. Darnell Mooney had some really good games before he was injured. They will likely keep him. Equanimeous St. Brown has bounced around a little bit, and he has some big catches, but it’s just not something the Bears want to mess with. They need a big name, which takes away spots for a player like St. Brown.

The brother of Amon Ra St. Brown will easily find another team. It’s not that he isn’t worthy of a spot. The Bears just need premium players at the position if they are going to keep Mooney and Brown. They need upgrades, and St. Brown will likely have to go to make room for bigger names and better talents.
