Chiefs won’t get massive advantage in 57 they had for Super Bowl 54
By Josh Wilson
The Kansas City Chiefs won’t have it easy in the stands for Super Bowl 57.
When the Kansas City Chiefs made it to Super Bowl 54 at the conclusion of the 2019 season, it was the team’s first appearance in the big game since 1969. Fans traveled to South Beach in droves to see the Chiefs win their second Super Bowl and took over Miami for the weekend and during the game.
Now that the Chiefs have appeared in the big game in three of the last four seasons, though, the novelty has worn off. It’s simply expected that the Chiefs get to the big game, and as such, apparently Chiefs Kingdom isn’t showing up as much.
That’s at least the early report from FanSided’s Matt Verderame, on-site in Glendale at State Farm Stadium who says there is a much denser presence of Eagles fans this year than there were 49ers fans in February, 2020.
Eagles fans are making their presence known at Super Bowl 57
Say what you will about Philly fans, but they show out loud and proud when their team is in it. Heck, maybe even when their teams aren’t in it.
The Eagles are the best team in the NFC this season, and though they’ve had some recent success of their own — winning the title game of the 2017 season — fans aren’t going to let the moment pass them by.
Eliot Shorr-Parks also reported that the Chiefs got some boos rained down on them as they came out for warmups.
This will go one of two ways: Either it’ll put the Chiefs off their game, or more likely, it’ll motivate them to play up a level or two. You don’t really want to give someone like Patrick Mahomes an additional reason to dig deep and find an extra gear.
While there is clearly a contingent that made the trip, don’t worry, we’ll see destruction in Philly either way. They’ve already flipped one car. If the Eagles win, they’ll climb street poles in celebration. If they lose, they’ll do it in anger.
