2. Justin Fields could be a better Raiders trade target than Aaron Rodgers

The team that released Derek Carr, the Las Vegas Raiders, has long been suspected to be ready to go big-game hunting this offseason in regards to filling the void at quarterback. And the most likely option being talked about seems to be reuniting Davante Adams, who the team trade for last offseason, with Aaron Rodgers.

Some problems arise with that course of action, though. For one, Rodgers has yet to make a decision on his future, not only if he wants to leave Green Bay or not, but if he even wants to suit up in the 2023 season. On top of that, there are concerns about his level of performance moving into his 40s.

Wouldn’t trading for a high-upside quarterback on a rookie contract make much more sense then? Here’s the trade package they could send the Bears for Justin Fields.

That looks like a good deal for both sides. Chicago ends up with two Top 10 picks and gets another Top 40 selection as well, which is important given that they don’t have their own second-round selection. Meanwhile, the Raiders answer the quarterback conundrum quickly while still having some draft capital to build around Fields.

Especially when compared to the prospects with Rodgers at this point in time, you’d have to believe this is the wiser option for the Raiders moving forward.
