3 quarterbacks who can save the Packers from going all-in on Jordan Love

Jimmy Garoppolo

Jimmy G has a 40-17 record as a starting quarterback in the NFL with a 4-2 record in the playoffs. Yet people act like he’s some sort of scrub.

He may not be an elite NFL quarterback, but those are few and far between. Instead, he’s a decidedly capable passer who can lead an offense without being the focal point.

That’s what he did for the 49ers when he helmed runs to the NFC Championship Game in the 2019 and 2021 seasons. Garoppolo doesn’t need to be an all-world Pro Bowl-level quarterback to help a team.

There doesn’t need to be a rush on getting the Jordan Love era. Rodgers sat for three seasons before taking over the full-time gig. Bringing in Garoppolo to at least compete with Love could be a win-win. If he succeeds, Green Bay can count on a stable offense. If he doesn’t, then Love will have won a competition to earn his job.
