NFL Rumors: Blockbuster Cowboys trades, Taylor Lewan fits, Hendon Hooker interest and more
NFL Rumors: Cowboys connected to blockbuster trades for Mike Evans, Jalen Ramsey, Stefon Diggs
The Cowboys have plenty of big fish to fry in the 2023 offseason when it comes to their own roster. Decisions about Ezekiel Elliott and pending free agent Tony Pollard have to be made, the team could be drafting a quarterback to add to the room, Tyron Smith and others could be cut candidates, and much more for Jerry Jones to consider.
So why not throw in a blockbuster trade to really shake things up? That seems to be the soup du jour for Dallas this week.
Last week, NFL.com’s Adam Rank floated the Cowboys as a potential destination for Mike Evans, who carries a hefty cap hit for the Bucs this season and could be dealt as a result but would fill the hurtful void left by the Amari Cooper trade in Dallas. Then there is Trevon Diggs relentlessly pushing the idea of getting his brother, Bills WR Stefon Diggs, to Big D to the point where it’s actually got people talking.
And if that weren’t enough, Robert Griffin III appeared on ESPN on Wednesday and said that the move the Cowboys needed to make this offseason was to trade for Jalen Ramsey.
That’s three legitimate star players that Dallas has been connected to in trade ideas over the past week. Perhaps there’s something brewing with the Jones family behind closed doors right now — or maybe it’s just another offseason with big dreams that ultimately lead to big disappointment.
