1. The Patriots could trade for DeAndre Hopkins

This one might take some gusto, but the Patriots need a top-level wide receiver. They are out of the Nelson Algholor business, as he will leave in free agency. Meyers is going to leave as well. We don’t see any way the Patriots are going to pay either of them.

They traded for DeVante Parker last offseason, but his impact fell short of expectations. He had a few good games, but he definitely wasn’t a number one. The Patriots basically built the offense around five number-two or number-three receivers. They definitely had depth, but without a true number one, it didn’t matter.

DeAndre Hopkins had a tumultuous season that started with a PED suspension. Then, the Cardinals never got off the blocks. Kyler Murray fought injuries, and he is going to miss the beginning of next season. That makes Hopkins expendable. He is 30 years old, so he should have a few productive years left.

Next. 3 strangest player to play with the Patriots. dark

New Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon will want new defensive pieces for his team. Davon Goodchaux played well last season, but the Patriots can just move Christian Barmore into that slot. He is on the superstar trajectory, so Goodchaux, while a really good defensive tackle, can be replaced.
