Playoff teams that need to sign Will Barton:1. Miami Heat

The Miami Heat are 5th in the NBA in defensive rating!

Unfortunately, they are 26th in offensive rating. That problem begins with their second unit. Miami’s bench is 29th in the NBA in points per game (26.7). In addition, their bench has the worst field goal percentage in the league (41.4) and is tied for the fourth-worst 3-point percentage (31.9). Notably, the Heat have been outscored by 297 points this season when their bench is on the floor.

The Heat have already made some nice moves to address the problem. They signed big men Kevin Love and Cody Zeller. Both players should make a big impact. However, adding another shooter/scorer would be ideal. On paper, the Heat have options on the roster: Victor Oladipo, Max Strus, Gabe Vincent, and Duncan Robinson, but none of those players is shooting 34+ percent from three.

The Heat have the starting lineup to contend in the East. Jimmy Butler always rises to the occasion in the playoffs. Barton would team up with Love and Zeller to give the Heat a much-improved second unit and provide some needed spacing.
