4. Austin Hooper

Things didn’t work out for Hooper after inking a big deal with the Browns, but he recovered nicely with a 41-catch season for the Titans. He could turn into a nice upgrade over Robert Tonyan at the tight end position for the Packers.

Hooper is still just 28 years old which means he’s squarely in the prime of his career. He displayed great hands for Tennessee last season which would make him a strong asset for either Rodgers or Jordan Love in Green Bay.

The former Stanford star isn’t just a plodder. He’s still got enough juice in his legs to stretch opposing secondaries down the seam. That would give the Packers’ offense an extra dimension they didn’t enjoy in 2022. Hurst could be a vital weapon in the complex play-action game the Packers like to deploy.

Signing Hooper isn’t the sexiest move Green Bay can make in free agency, but he would give them an above-average starter at a position of real need. Their front office would be smart to target him early in the free-agency process and try to nail him down with a strong, multi-year offer.
