The Aaron Rodgers saga continues to dominate headlines in Green Bay, but the Packers should move forward with targeting these five free agents.

Packers fans all across the country are obsessed with every interview and social media post-Aaron Rodgers makes at the moment. Admittedly, his decision as to whether or not to return to Green Bay is the organization’s most important offseason inflection point.

That doesn’t mean the team’s front office shouldn’t be formulating a surgical plan on how to attack free agency. This team has clear needs that can best be filled with quality veterans. The Packers don’t have to spend a ton of money on the open market to find some nice upgrades.

One obvious need the Packers must address is to find more weapons for their aerial attack. That should be a priority for the team no matter who their starting quarterback happens to be in 2023. Gambling on a young receiver could pay off big for Green Bay’s front office.

Who do the Green Bay Packers need to land this offseason?

5. Parris Campbell

Campbell played more games last season (17) than he had in his previous three campaigns (15) for the Colts in 2022. That means the former Ohio State standout is hitting free agency at the right time.

He also managed to catch 63 passes for an offense that struggled mightily for most of the season. Campbell represents an excellent buy-low opportunity for a team that can offer him a lot of playing time at the wide receiver position.

Campbell gets extra credit for his ability to work in the slot and on the outside. The Packers could move for him early in free agency without restricting their ability to add another wide receiver later in the offseason. The former second-round draft pick’s injury history will limit any team’s willingness to offer him a long-term deal so the Packers could get away with a one-year make-good contract to see if his body can stand up to the pounding of another NFL season.
