DraftKings NBA DFS Picks for March 2
Los Angeles Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors
Game Pace: The Warriors lead the league in pace of play while the Clippers are ranked 23rd. The game total sits at 231.5
Injuries: Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins remain out for Golden State and Jordan Poole is probable. The Clips report no injuries. These two teams played about two weeks ago and put up a total of 258 points.
Top Picks: Kawhi Leonard is back to playing big minutes and putting up big fantasy numbers. He posted a 33/7/4 line on Feb. 14 against the Warriors, good for 53.75 DKFP. He is my top play tonight behind Joel Embiid. I’m looking for Kawhi to put up 60 DKFP tonight. Paul George took just 12 shots in that game and had just two rebounds. He’ll put up more shots and grab more boards tonight. I’m not predicting nuclear activity for PG13 tonight, but 5-6x value seems reasonable.
I’m fading the Warriors’ big guns tonight. Jordan Poole was been subpar for much of February, and he has shot the ball very poorly in two prior meetings with the Clippers this season. The Clippers aren’t the best at defending the 3, but I just like other options better than Poole and Klay tonight. I like Russell Westbrook at $7,000 more than Poole or Klay. Of course, Poole and Klay can go big on any given night — which is what you’re looking for in tourney play — so I understand rostering them tonight.
Value Picks: Before Tuesday’s game against the Blazers, Kevon Looney has six straight games of 13 or more rebounds. He had 11 and 14 last time they played the Clippers, and at $5,400 seems like a reasonable play to get close to 6x value. Jonathan Kuminga might be worth a play at $4,300.
The Clippers don’t feature much by way of value. None of their bench players are likely to get more than 20 minutes. Norman Powell can be that microwave-type player but has scored just 22 points in his last two games after back-to-back 24-point games. Ty Jerome looked to be a solid value play with a cheap salary, but he’s made just two shots in his last two games.
