No. 2 Option: Peter Skoronski, OT, Northwestern

Sometimes, a kid within the state could be the right call. In this case, it would be Northwestern’s Peter Skoronski.

While he may be better suited as a guard with limited responsibility outside and more natural talent inside, Skoronski is still worthy of the No. 9 overall pick and would be a massive addition to the offensive line for the Chicago Bears.

The proof is in the pudding, and good play from the offensive line is critical; see Super Bowl LVII.

Kansas City and Philadelphia’s performances showed that the trenches matter, on both sides of the ball. But in this day and age, good offensive lines can be the difference between winning and losing a Super Bowl, the same vice-versa.

Adding Skoronski to the mix would give Chicago a Day One starter and check off another item on the rebuild list.
