A day after Odell Beckham Jr. held a free agency workout on Friday, a New York Giants star made a pitch for him to return to the team that drafted him.

Odell Beckham Jr. is looking for a new team to sign with after he missed out on the entirety of the 2022 season while recovering from a torn ACL.

Considering he went unsigned, Beckham does not have to wait until the official start of the league year, March 15, to put pen to paper on a new contract. He held a workout for interested teams on Friday in Arizona and reportedly impressed those in attendance.

One clip that circulated from the workout was Beckham making a one-handed catch. The NFL’s official Instagram account posted the video with the caption, “Which team will sign @obj?”

New York Giants safety Xavier McKinney responded with a recruiting pitch for Beckham to return to the team that drafted him in 2014.

Beckham started off his career with New York, where became one of the biggest stars of the league in a short amount of time. Even though the team did sign him to a lucrative contract extension in 2018, they opted to trade him to the Cleveland Browns the next offseason.

The Giants currently have a new regime led by general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll. In fact, the Giants have expressed interest in pursuing Beckham, as they were one of three teams that he visited during the 2022 season. Ultimately, he didn’t sign with any of them, as he didn’t fully recover from a torn ACL in time to be an immediate contributor.

For those wondering if the Giants’ interest in Beckham had waned, the answer was no, as they were one of the teams in attendance for the wide receiver’s workout.

The Giants have an obvious need at wide receiver entering the 2023 league year. They have Isaiah Hodgins, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Collin Johnson under contract entering March 15. They released  Kenny Golladay after two seasons with the team, while Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton are set to become unrestricted free agents. The team needs to bring in some reinforcements at the position, especially after they signed quarterback Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million contract.

Beckham is the biggest name wide receiver available in free agency. Can the Giants find a way to get him to return? Or will one of the other teams that were in attendance get Beckham to agree to sign with them instead?
