3. Yankees prospects who deserve a roster spot soon: Clayton Beeter, RHP

While Will Warren might be able to find his way into the New York Yankees’ starting rotation, the team could use some help in another area as well. The Yankees’ bullpen is far from perfect.

Sure, Clay Holmes will hold down the closer’s role in 2023 and New York has Michael King and Jonathan Loaisiga as part of their relief corps, but bringing up Clayton Beeter could greatly help improve the team’s bullpen.

Beeter was part of the return from the Los Angeles Dodgers after New York shipped Joey Gallo to the west coast for the second half of the 2022 season. Drafted in 2020, Beeter has struggled to stay on the field, but if he can, the right-hander could be a weapon out of the bullpen.

Beeter has no problem getting opposing batters to swing and miss. Last season, Beeter appeared in 25 games and recorded a ridiculous 129 strikeouts in just 77 innings of work. Tell me having an arm like that before handing things over to Clay Holmes wouldn’t be a positive thing for the Yanks in 2023.

Clayton Beeter has yet to play above Double-A, but in seven appearances with Somerset Patriots in 2022, the 24-year-old posted a 2.13 ERA to go along with 41 Ks. Beeter could be coming to the Big Apple very soon.
