NFL Rumors: Packers expect Tarvarius Moore to help fill in Adrian Amos’ shoes
The Green Bay Packers will begin the Jordan Love era in 2023, and they want to make sure they get off on the right foot. With star safety Adrian Amos testing the free agent market, the Packers have made a crucial move to prepare for Amos’ exit by signing former San Francisco 49ers’ Tarvarius Moore.
Moore, a third-round pick in 2018, will enter his sixth season in the league and enjoyed moderate success during his stint on San Francisco. While not fully established as a starter, the safety has ample specials teams experience and may have been waiting for the opportunity to break out in the right environment.
The Packers signal a defensive change-up with Moore’s signing, though it’s still possible for Adrian Amos to return to Green Bay if he doesn’t find the lucrative contract he’s looking for.
With key pieces like Rasul Douglas and Jaire Alexander sticking around, bringing back Amos on a cheaper deal would probably be in the Packers’ best interest, as Amos has played every single game in his four years with the franchise.
Still, Green Bay is doing the responsible thing by preparing for Amos’ potential departure. Moore won’t be able to replace Amos’ production all by himself, but it’s a start.
