March Madness – The KenPom Final Four: Alabama, Houston, UCLA, Tennessee

At the end of the day, college basketball fans simply want to see the best teams square off at the Final Four. The best teams should produce the best basketball, so what better way to pick a Final Four than going with the best teams according to the KenPom rankings.

That criteria actually sets us up nicely with four of the top six teams in the rankings, including the Top 3 in Alabama, Houston and UCLA. Bracket limitations mean we have to rule out UCONN and Texas, leaving Tennessee as the East’s representative in the Final Four.

Any college basketball fan knows from the regular season that Alabama and Houston are two of the best teams in the nation so we should want them to make the Final Four. UCLA may have been more of a threat to both of them if Jaylen Clark was healthy but the Bruins are still a tremendous basketball team capable of posing a challenge to the top dogs.

The final team here is the Volunteers, who would bring their rugged defense and a potential redemption storyline for head coach Rick Barnes to Houston. If you’re looking at purely on-court ability, this Final Four would be hard to top, even if UCONN or Texas make it instead of UCLA or Houston.
