NFL rumors: Mecole Hardman unsure if Kansas City Chiefs even offered him
While Mecole Hardman is excited about the opportunities ahead for him with the New York Jets, he is not entirely sure if the Kansas City Chiefs even offered him in his free agency. The former Georgia star had been a huge part of Kansas City’s run of success offensively. He may not have been Travis Kelce or Tyreek Hill for them, but he is a valuable piece the Chiefs will be missing here.
Here is what Hardman had to say about the whole thing after signing his deal with New York.
"“Honestly, I don’t know. I don’t know if they offered anything worth talking about or if they just was moving on. I’m pretty sure they probably offered something, but if they did, it probably wasn’t nothing my agent thought to consider.”"
Although the Jets tend to make poor moves in free agency on the regular, it is hard to not like them bringing Hardman aboard. He is not going to be a No. 1 wide receiver on even a bad team in this league, but he has shown he can be a solid No. 2 on a contending team, possibly a very good No. 3 option as he ages in the profession. More importantly, he knows what winning football looks like.
It has been over a decade since Gang Green even sniffed the postseason. While they still need to figure out how to trade for Aaron Rodgers with the Packers, the Jets are looking up. They will be taking off soon. It is only a matter of time. Frankly, this upcoming season should be viewed as playoffs or bust for them. It may take another year beyond this upcoming one, but just go for it!
Hardman will be happy playing for the Jets, as he is a key piece who can help them turn it around.
