Bears Rumors: 3 Players who won’t be on the roster after NFL Draft

Larry Borom could be the surprise cut among the offensive line come the end of the draft.

This would be a shocker, but it would also not be a total surprise. The reality is the right tackle position, and even the backup spot, has been a significant hole that needs filling. One will likely come through the early portion of the draft, and a late-round pick will fill the reserve role. That leaves Borom on the outside looking in.

Again, this would be a surprise, but the entire front line as a whole has been a mess. Though Teven Jenkins has shown that when on the field, he’s exactly what they want, he is injury prone. Braxton Jones can play left or right tackle, and if Chicago picks a better blind-side protector, Jones moves to RT, and the reserve role is drafted later, or if something else happens, then a rookie starts at RT with another one to back him up.

If Borom is willing to move to guard, then maybe he can stick around, but again, he wasn’t taken by this regime. Only a select few from the Ryan Pace era will be allowed to stick around under Poles’ watch. Borom will probably find a place somewhere else, probably Atlanta, to reunite under Pace, but his playing days in Chicago might be numbered.
