Scouting Report. TE. Iowa. Sam Laporta. 2. player. Pick Analysis. 49

Sam Laporta gives the Packers another playmaker where they have none

Speaking of positions where Green Bay is wildly thin in terms of the current roster, there is only one tight end of note or consequence on the roster right now: Josiah Deguara. That’s an easy target for the franchise early in the draft now.

In this NFL mock draft, they land Sam Laporta out of Iowa. The tight end was a beast with over 600 receiving yards in each of the past two seasons despite being part of a truly horrendous Hawkeyes offense. He’s a threat all over the field with great physical tools and athleticism, a player who can stretch the field but also win over the middle and make plays after the catch.

For a team that needs more playmakers to help out Jordan Love, this makes too much sense with the second-rounder coming to them from the Jets.

Pick Analysis. DL. Adetomiwa Adebawore. player. Scouting Report. Northwestern. 2. 49

Adetomiwa Adebawore is a freak that can play all over the Packers front seven

One of the biggest winners in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine was Northwestern standout Adetomiwa Adebawore. The defensive lineman ran a blistering 4.49-second 40-yard dash at 282 pounds while also posting a 37.5-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-5 broad jump.

When you look at the tape, that explosiveness and suddenness is evident on the field as well with Adebawore. The only concern is that he’s a tweener with his size. However, that could work in Green Bay’s favor overall.

With a huge need for defensive line depth but also on the edge as well, the Packers could easily take Adebawore on Day 2 and move him around early to see where he has the most success in training camp. He can also be a versatile chess piece up front filling multiple roles. In any case, though, you can’t pass on these traits at a spot of need if you’re Green Bay.
