MLB Rumors: What in the world is going on with the Yankees?

The Yankees defeated the Texas Rangers on Thursday night, 4-2, in an outstanding outing by New York ace Gerrit Cole. Still, it wouldn’t be these Yankees without a little unfounded drama.

Yankees fans do not like Aaron Hicks. He’s on his way out, and doesn’t understand his role. Brian Cashman, Aaron Boone and Co. feel determined to play Hicks as much as humanly possible, if only to prove themselves right. It’s frustrating on all sides, which now includes Cole, who threw up his arms in disgust when Hicks misplayed a fly ball.

Yeah, it’s easy to understand Cole’s frustration. He did all he can to enforce an easy pop-out, and that’s a minor-league misfire by Hicks. Frustration mounts in the Bronx.

In terms of other Yankees updates, Aaron Judge is expected to miss a few days following a series of injuries suffered in the middle of this week. If Judge needs an IL stint, he would join Giancarlo Stanton, Josh Donaldson, and Harrison Bader.

New York sits at 15-11 on the young season, and this looks all too familiar for Yankee fans.
