NFL Power Rankings 2023, Post-NFL Draft: No. 28-25

51. . . . Los Angeles Rams. 28. team

From NFL champions in 2021 to a 5-12 club this past season. No defending Super Bowl winner has ever followed up a league title with that many losses.

It was an offseason of departures as the Rams dealt cornerback Jalen Ramsey to Miami while linebackers Leonard Floyd and Bobby Wagner were cut loose. Minus a first-round choice for the seventh straight year, the team would trade down and draft 14 players.

87. . . . Carolina Panthers. 27. team

The new head coach in Charlotte is former NFL quarterback Frank Reich, who was the Carolina Panthers Week 1 starting quarterback during their debut season in 1995.

The franchise gave up plenty to the Bears to obtain the first overall pick in the draft and selected quarterback Bryce Young. The Carolina offense will benefit from the additions of running back Miles Sanders and wide receivers Adam Thielen and D.J. Chark.

team. 10. . . . Houston Texans. 26

General manager Nick Caserio has enjoyed quite the offseason. There was the hiring of head coach DeMeco Ryans. The veteran additions include linebackers Denzel Perryman and Cory Littleton, as well as running back Devin Singletary and tight end Dalton Schultz.

The Texans grabbed quarterback C.J. Stroud with the second overall pick and pass-rusher Will Anderson Jr. third after swinging a deal with Arizona.

25. team. 48. . . . Tampa Bay Buccaneers

From Super Bowl LV champions in 2020 to tying for the league’s best record a year later (13-4) to winning a second straight division title despite an 8-9 record. That’s quite a three-year stretch for the Buccaneers.

Todd Bowles enters his second year as the club’s head coach and gone are quarterback Tom Brady, tight end Cameron Brate, and left tackle Donovan Smith. The NFC South could be extremely wide open.
