USMNT rumors: Pulisic to AC Milan, PL interest in Dest, Trusty wins award

Today’s USMNT news includes Christian Pulisic being linked with AC Milan, there is also Premier League interest in Sergino Dest and Auston Trusty won an award at Birmingham City. 

Christian Pulisic was again left out of the Chelsea team yesterday as the Blues beat Bournemouth 3-1. His regular place on the bench under Frank Lampard recently might have forced Pulisic to make his mind up about departing Stamford Bridge this summer.

Calciomercato has linked Pulisic with a move to AC Milan. The Italian website has reported that Milan is looking for a striker, a midfielder and a ring-winger. Pulisic is a versatile player who could be a very good option for the club.

A move to Milan has been backed by their current forward Oliver Giroud who played with Pulisic at Chelsea. When asked if he wanted to see Pulisic at Milan on CBS Sports Golazo, Giroud said “I think everyone would like it. He’s a big name in Europe, so that would help us.

“He is that kind of player with great skills, with great talent. He is a cheerful boy, always smiling. We laughed a lot with him. Our understanding on the pitch was also excellent, a bit like with Eden Hazard, even though I played less with Christian. We knew how to find each other.”

USMNT news: Premier League interest in Sergino Dest

Sergino Dest was again left out of AC Milan’s squad for yesterday’s win over Lazio. The USMNT full-back has played just eight times in Serie A this season and will go back to Barcelona when his loan deal expires this summer.

He was heavily linked with joining Union Berlin but Barca Times has reported that his future is still up in the air. “There is still no progress with any club. Dest will return to Barcelona and then we will meet with the management and decide. There are 3 clubs from the Premier League that have shown a lot of interest.”

Dest has had a disappointing time at Barcelona and Milan recently so is a player who might struggle in the Premier League right now. A move to the Bundesliga could be a better option for his development and confidence at this stage in his career.

USMNT news: Auston Trusty wins award

Auston Trusty has enjoyed a great season on loan at Birmingham City from Arsenal. The defender’s work has been recognized with Trusty winning Birmingham’s Supporters’ Player of the Season.

Trusty posted on Twitter saying how pleased he was with the award “Thank you to the club and fans that have made Birmingham feel like home since day one. I am so honoured and grateful”

Birmingham plays Sheffield United -who have already been promoted to the Premier League- tomorrow in their final game of the Championship season. Trusty’s deal with Birmingham expires this summer and he will return to Arsenal.

It remains to be seen where the defender’s future lies. However,  he has certainly made a great impression playing in English soccer’s second tier this season.
