Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill talked a lot of smack about his former team, the Chiefs. It turns out his return to Arrowhead will had to wait, for now. Chris Jones wasn’t thrilled.

Kansas City Chiefs defensive star Chris Jones was looking forward to a rematch with his former teammate, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. That rematch will indeed happen, but not necessarily on Jones and the Chiefs terms.

While it was initially expected that said rematch would happen at Arrowhead Stadium, it will instead occur in Germany. Chiefs vs Dolphins is just one of several elite international matchups the NFL has in store for next season.

Chiefs: Chris Jones upset at NFL for Tyreek Hill matchup

So, why does Jones want a rematch at Arrowhead so bad? That answer is obvious, as Hill talked a lot of smack this offseason.

“Chiefs Kingdom, when the Miami Dolphins come to Arrowhead Stadium this year, guess what we gonna do?” Hill said at the time. “Guess what we gonna do? I hate to say it, man. I hate to throw up the peace sign against y’all. I hate to do it, but guess what? I’m gonna be y’all worst enemy that day. I’m gonna be y’all worst enemy that day.”

Jones wasn’t the only Chief expecting some sort of revenge game in KC. L’Jarius Sneed had plenty to say earlier this week, too.

“Tyreek’s been talking a lot of trash. He’s been talking a lot about coming back to Arrowhead. We’ll show him when he gets here,” Sneed said on NFL Network, prior to when the game was announced. “I don’t really get into it, but I take notes of what he said. I’ve been on the internet and I see what he’s saying. We’ll see once he comes to Arrowhead.”

So much for that.

Jones and KC will still have the chance to prove Hill wrong. If anything, it’ll be more impressive to do so at a neutral site.

Chiefs fans will just have to watch from afar.
